Manchester United’s transfer window started with a bang as they announced the signing of Memphis Depay before the season had finished. After a month-long lull in proceedings, it looks as though things are heating up again, with several sources saying United will seal a deal for Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.
According to the Daily Mail, that move will be completed on Wednesday, when the transfer window opens officially.
The Frenchman is thought to cost United somewhere around the £25million mark, and he’ll pen a four year contract at Old Trafford.
Schneiderlin, 25, has been seeking a move to a Champions League club over the last couple of transfer windows, and it looks as though he will finally get his wish as Louis van Gaal clearly rates him high enough.
United have needed another midfielder for the last year. That was demonstrated on several occasions when Wayne Rooney had to drop back into the middle of the park at points last season, but hopefully those days are behind us as the Iron Tulip seems to be getting our squad in order.
