Man Utd to offer deals to host of players with one year left on contract

Manchester United have huge plans in terms of incoming transfers this summer, with Edward Woodward and Louis van Gaal working together to lure some of the best players in the world to Old Trafford for the start of next season.

However, United also have a whole host of players whom are coming into the last year of their contract, and our Vice-Chairman today confirmed that he plans to offer new deals to these players in the not too distant future, despite it affecting the wage bill.

David de Gea, Robin van Persie, Ashley Young, Phil Jones, Jonny Evans, Rafael da Silva, Anders Lindegaard, Michael Carrick and finally James Wilson all have just one year left to run, and you’d expect at least half of these to stay at the club.

Obviously they’ll be some departures, but its good to know that Ed Woodward is trying to keep on top of things and get these contracts sorted as soon as possible.

Who should United offer deals to, and who’s contract should they let expire? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
