Man Utd to part with Jonny Evans this summer

Manchester United Football Club haven’t messed around in the transfer window so far, with Louis van Gaal keen to improve his squad into a side that can challenge for the title once again. Alongside that comes players leaving the club, and it looks as though Jonny Evans’ time is up.

Last night, several reputable sources claimed that Evans was on the verge of an £8million switch to Everton, with the Northern Irishman deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

Getting £8million for the 27-year old Evans would be a good bit of business for all involved. Manchester United are getting a good fee, Evans will get regular playing time and Everton FC are getting a player who’ll drastically improve their back line.

The sale of Evans probably means Manchester United have a deal in place for another centre-back, and if Louis van Gaal’s ‘buying to improve the side’ mentality continues, then the player in question must be extremely talented – hopefully its Nicolas Otamendi.
