Man Utd to reward first-team regular with new contract

Manchester United are set to reward the in-form Ashley Young with a bumper new deal come the end of the season. According to the Daily Mail, he’ll be given a three-year contract, that’ll keep him at the club until at least 2018.

Young, 29, is currently on an £120,000-a-week deal at the club, and his new package is set to be similar figures in terms of his weekly wage packet.

His transformation this season under Louis van Gaal has been incredible. He seemingly took to the Dutchman’s new system and philosophy from minute one, and over the past couple of months he has been one of our most dangerous players in an attacking sense.

Its great to see just how well he has been playing, because just twelve months ago many of the Old Trafford faithful were calling for his head, and its excellent that he didn’t give up and just kept working hard.

Does Young deserve a new deal? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
