Manchester United are readying contract talks for the summer, and one of their star performers of the season so far is Ashley Young. The 29-year old is prepared to take a pay cut in order to further his career at Old Trafford, according to The Mirror.
Louis van Gaal is prepared to keep hold of Young, but only if he reduces his current £120,000-a-week contract, with a reported three-year deal in the offing for the winger.
Young’s United career has been full of ups and downs, but he seems revitalised under Louis van Gaal and it’d be foolish not to offer him a new contract on current form.
He was the Man of the Match in the Manchester derby on Sunday, and has played a key role in United’s resurgence throughout the months of March and April.
