Man Utd’s David de Gea nominated for pair of awards

Manchester United’s season has got better and better as time has gone on, with Louis van Gaal’s famous philosophy finally taking effect over the past month or so. United have gone on a six match unbeaten run, and now sit third in the Premier League table.

One player who has been outstanding from minute one is David de Gea. The goalkeeper won United points single-handedly in the early stages of the season, with the highlight being that incredible double-save against Everton in the last minute.

Those performances have been rewarded with nominations for the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards, and its fantastic to see that his hard work has been recognised.

He’ll go up against the likes of Diego Costa, Harry Kane, Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez, so the chances of him winning the award are slim, but its nice to see him get the credit he deserves.

Players’ Player of the Year nominees:

Diego Costa (Chelsea)

David De Gea (Manchester United)

Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)

Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

Players’ Young Player of the Year nominees:

Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)

David De Gea (Manchester United)

Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)
