Manchester United’s Morgan Schneiderlin has earned an unexpected call-up to France’s Euro 2016 squad due to an injury to Lassana Diarra. Louis van Gaal sanctioned a £25million move to bring in the 26-year-old last summer, but rarely played the holding midfielder.
That led to Schneiderlin getting dropped from Didier Deschamps’ regular starting line-ups and then the squad altogether, but he may have just been given a huge opportunity.
Schneiderlin will surely be a much-improved player under Jose Mourinho next term if given the chance in the side, and the new Manchester United manager will be keeping a close eye on the European Championships.

This is a call-up that Morgan Schneiderlin wouldn’t have expected to get 24 hours ago, and now he is off to one of the biggest major tournaments in the world.
Good luck, Morgan! Do Manchester United and France proud.
