Manchester United Football Club are in desperate need of an out and out goalscorer for next season, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic the only real recognised finisher in the current squad. Now, it looks as though the club have turned to Alvaro Morata as the main transfer target.
The Daily Star, who quote TransferMarketWeb in Italy, are claiming that Manchester United have got their man, and they’ve agreed a £60million fee with Real Madrid for the transfer of Morata.
In the aforementioned report, it is claimed that United were targeting Romelu Lukaku from Everton, but he has apparently snubbed a move to Old Trafford, in favour of a return to Chelsea.
Then, attentions turned to 24-year-old Morata and now it looks as though he’ll be following Victor Lindelof through the Manchester United entrance doors.
I believe that this is the perfect signing for the Red Devils. Morata is quick yet strong, skilful, as well as being a real threat in the air. The Premier League requires that all-round and complete striker – and that is exactly what Morata is.
This is a man who’s best years are ahead of him, but he’s already pretty well travelled considering he has played in both Spain and Italy at the highest level. He’s got big-game experience and that’s essential given there are so many huge clashes every single week in England.
