Manchester United look like they are about to sell Adnan Januzaj, in a £9.7million deal. That’s according to France Football, as per the Daily Star. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Sunderland, where he failed and often found himself out of the team. His side eventually got relegated.
Januzaj will head to Real Sociedad in La Liga, presenting him with an opportunity for a fresh start and the chance to prove that he wasn’t just a flash in the pan.
Personal terms are still being worked out between Januzaj and the Spanish club, but agreeing a £9.7m fee for a man who has just one year left on his contract has to be considered good business.
The Belgian obviously has an immense amount of talent and nothing can take that away from him. It’s just a shame to see him fizzle out so dramatically, after bursting on the scene in scintillating manner.
I, for one hope he goes out to Sociedad and shows the world what he can do. Perhaps it may be smart from Jose Mourinho to insert some sort of buy-back clause into his contract, just in case he starts setting the world alight once again.
