Manchester United agree deal for yet another first-team player

Manchester United have agreed to let another player go who has been knocking on the first-team door for a few months. The man is Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, and he has reportedly agreed a deal to join Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan.

The 19-year-old is Mancunian born and bred, and United through and through. He played brilliantly at times for the club last term, but Jose Mourinho clearly prefers other players as a backup option to Luke Shaw.

This would be a real shame. Borthwick-Jackson was a real key part of Louis van Gaal’s first-team setup last season, and when called upon he did a superb job on both sides of the ball. He defended dilligently, and honestly, I’ve not seen a full-back with his pinpoint crossing ability in a very long time.

Hopefully, this doesn’t knock Borthwick-Jackson’s confidence, and he can go out and perform week-in-week-out for a Wolves side who’ll be hoping for promotion.
