The January transfer window is now well underway, but for Manchester United there hasn’t been any action in terms of incoming signings to this point. However that may be about to change, and the latest rumour suggests that United have agreed a deal to sign Luca Ercolani from Forli.
The 16-year old defender is expected to sign for £50,000, which is a snip in the ocean for a club the size of Manchester United. Big things are expected of the young Italian defender, but as you’d expect, a player of his doesn’t always turn into the complete article that many expect.
With the fee being so small it is certainly worth a punt on the young man. Who knows, he could well turn into the next Seamus Coleman, who cost £60,000 when David Moyes was in charge at Everton; Now he is one of the leading right-backs in the Premier League.
