Manchester United Football Club are set to open contract talks with Luke Shaw.
The 23-year-old has completely turned things around at Old Trafford this season. A case can be made for him likely being our best outfield player to date in the 2018/19 campaign.
Now, according to Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones, the Red Devils are planning a sit down with the left-back. It really is a success story for Shaw, particularly as it has been such a long road for the ex-Southampton man following that horrific leg break he suffered against PSV Eindhoven in a Champions League group-stage match.

With just one year left on his current deal, United have to do all they can to tie Shaw down to a new deal as quickly as possible. In January, he’d be free to talk to overseas clubs about the possibility of signing a pre-contract; that’s providing United don’t take up the option to extend his deal by a further year, as that clause is still to be activated.
Shaw just brings another dimension to our attack. For so long we’ve become accustomed to our full-backs just sitting back and primarily defending, instead, Shaw will bomb forward and overlap his winger. That’s already created chances aplenty for the Red Devils, and quite frankly, it’s just refreshing to see.
