Manchester United have potentially been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Willian, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Apparently, Antonio Conte has returned to the Chelsea training ground, as the build-up for the new season begins. The pair have been embroiled in a major falling out following the 2017/18 season, ad if the Italian coach does remain at Stamford Bridge, all roads point to a Willian exit.
The 29-year-old Brazilian is yet to return to training himself, after his native Brazil only would have left Russia a couple of days ago following their World Cup exit. However, while Conte is there, it’s highly unlikely that Willian will be.
If the right-sided attacker wants to remain in the Premier League, Old Trafford is his best destination. He’s worked with Jose Mourinho before, the pair have enjoyed success together. However, I have my concerns about whether Chelsea would sell a second player to United in back-to-back seasons. They would have spotted how well Nemanja Matic did last season. Roman Abramovich won’t want that to happen again.
Honestly, I’m happy for United to sign Willian whatever it takes. He’s a brilliant player who wants out, and we need a right-winger. It makes perfect sense.
