Manchester United captain shows concern around Anthony Martial injury

Manchester United were given a major injury scare over the international period, when Anthony Martial was spotted leaving Wembley Stadium on crutches following an injury he picked up whilst playing for his native France.

There were reports suggesting that Martial could be out for the foreseeable future, and his club captain Wayne Rooney has expressed his displeasure at the news, adding that he hopes to ring his mate and see how he is.

“From a personal point of view and also from United’s point of view, I hope he is okay. I will try to ring him.” Rooney said.

You understand his concern, too. I bet Rooney absolutely loves playing with a player of Martial’s ability and intelligence. The pair are slowly but surely forming an excellent partnership on the field, and if Manchester United are to make a real challenge at the title this season, that’ll have to grow significantly.
