Manchester United chiefs have already vented their anger at Romelu Lukaku; before he’s even signed for the club. That’s according to The Express, who claim that Old Trafford bosses aren’t happy with the fact that the 24-year-old gave an interview to ESPN – before a deal was done.
Obviously, at that point in time, no deal had officially been confirmed and the Red Devils have a strict protocol in place when it comes to unveiling new signings.
They like MUTV to conduct the first official interview, just like they’ve done for countless signings in the past.
I wholly understand their frustration on this one. The mantra that no player is bigger than the club kind of comes into question here, but this is a young man who is still learning. Clearly, it would have been best if he’d not given the interview, but I’m sure it won’t be too big of a deal when the actual football starts.
At the end of the day, we’ve got our man and that is all that matters. Lukaku will do all of his talking on the pitch, and this will all be forgotten about when he starts hitting the back of the net on a regular basis whilst wearing our jersey.
