Manchester United and Jose Mourinho will have plenty of money at their disposal this summer, with the self-proclaimed Special One all set to take over. One area of concern for him must be up front, with only Anthony Martial getting into double figures in terms of goals.
One man they’ve reportedly been looking at is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and now the Daily Mirror say that Manchester United are confident they can land the 34-year old now that Jose Mourinho is in charge.
The club have been missing that figurehead and leader for a few years now, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic combined with Jose Mourinho would certainly bring that fear factor back to Old Trafford.
However bringing in a man of 34 could be classed as a huge risk. We all know the Swede wouldn’t come cheap as he’d command extremely high wages, and one major injury could end his career.
In the current circumstances its probably a chance worth taking. United need to win the fans over again and quickly, and it would be a real statement of intent from Edward Woodward and the rest of the board.
