Manchester United’s transfer window seems to be hotting up nicely. After a deal for Victor Lindelof was agreed, it looks as though the club are trying to push on to bring in another new face, namely Alvaro Morata. Now, The Independent have a positive update to offer Red Devils fans.

They are claiming that Jose Mourinho and United are hoping that the Spaniard will undergo his medical this week after positive talks with Real Madrid over the weekend.

United’s boss simply has to spend money to bring in a new striker. The only real goals output we got last season came from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and obviously, he isn’t staying at the club beyond the summer.

I was gutted when I found out that Ibrahimovic wouldn’t be offered a new deal, but the links to Morata certainly excite me.

This is a player that has the world at his feet. In limited minutes on the field last season, the 24-year-old still managed to score 20 goals for Madrid which is an impressive tally.

Mourinho knows him well from their time together out in Spain, and I fully trust the judgement of one of the best managers on the globe. The sooner this deal is pushed through the better, as it’ll give Morata more time to adjust to life in England and get used to playing with his new teammates.
