Manchester United could be about to lose defender for season after ligament damage

Manchester United made the move to bring in Eric Bailly over the summer, and at the time, the Ivorian wasn’t really known to the footballing world. However, he has changed that at the start of this campaign with some absolutely outstanding performances week-in, week-out.

However, we may not see him take to the field again this season if Jose Mourinho is correct. After the 4-0 thumping away at Chelsea, things were compounded when he told reporters that Bailly had suffered ‘bad ligament damage’…

Those knee injuries are always the worst, and when they are extremely serious, they tend to keep the player out for around nine months. If that’s the case here then it’s season over for Eric Bailly which would be absolutely gutting for the young man.

You have to say that he has been one of our most consistent performers this year, and to lose him like this would really put a downer on a horrific afternoon already.

Hopefully, it isn’t as serious as Jose thinks and although he’ll still be sidelined for a considerable amount of time, he may return before the end of the season.
