Manchester United are building up towards the FA Cup final which takes place this coming Saturday, with Louis van Gaal’s side heading South to take on Crystal Palace. Ahead of the game, the Red Devils have been hit with a huge injury blow.
According to the Metro, Manchester United will be without the services of young Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who has made a brilliant impression on the Old Trafford faithful during his short stay in the first-team so far.
The news was confirmed by Fosu-Mensah being pulled from Holland’s international squad for their upcoming friendlies, but it must be a huge boost for him that he is already in Danny Blind’s plans and thoughts.
Whilst this is a massive blow for him, you really feel that the world is Fosu-Mensah’s oyster. He could quite possibly be one of the most talented academy prospects we’ve seen at Old Trafford recently, and if he keeps his head screwed on he has the potential to go an awfully long way in the game.
‘Timothy is eighteen. There’s a lot come down on him in recent weeks. The reward for this was a place on the shortlist,’ said his international manager Blind.
‘I wanted him in the final selection, but you have to be fit. And he’s not one hundred percent fit at the moment.
‘That’s too bad. I wanted to see him, but I hope I can still see him at work after the summer.’
