Manchester United defender ruled out for four months following injury

Manchester United have had a tough week, losing the derby against fiercest of rivals City, with Jose Mourinho making some poor tactical decisions coupled with some awful individual displays. Now, our week has just gotten worse, with news that loanee Guillermo Varela has suffered ligament damage.

That’s according to ESPN, and their sources say the young Uruguayan will be missing for three to four months, all-but ruling him out until the turn of the year.

They say that Varela, 23, suffered the injury in a Bundesliga game at the weekend after clashing with an opposing striker.

It just looks as though the former Penarol man cannot catch a break at the moment despite having bags of talent and ability.

Hopefully, he continues to work hard, and fights to get back as soon as possible so he can force his way back into action. I wouldn’t be wholly surprised if United decided to terminate the loan deal though, allowing him to undergo rehabilitation at Carrington, before getting him another loan move elsewhere.
