Alvaro Morata has a huge decision to make about his future this week, and both Ander Herrera and David de Gea are trying to convince the striker to make a move to Old Trafford. That’s according to Spanish media outlet Marca, as per the Manchester Evening News.
Jose Mourinho has made the 24-year-old forward his primary transfer target for the summer, and it looks as though both Herrera and De Gea are doing all they can to try and convince their international teammate to come and join them in Manchester.
Just when you think you cannot love our Spanish contingent any more, they become agents! In all seriousness, the pair will know just how good of a footballer Morata is. These are the guys that have worked with him day-in-day-out during the recent international break, and no doubt it is all lighthearted, but it is nice to see them trying to get the striker to come here.
Our biggest problem last season was putting the ball into the back of the net. Outside of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, we didn’t have that regular goals output from any of our other attacking players, and with the influential Swede leaving a new striker is of top priority.
Our gaffer knows Morata well from their time together at Madrid, and I’m of the opinion that the forward will come in and make an instant impact. He’s a big-game player who’s style of play seems the perfect fit for Premier League football, and I for one am excited at the prospect of seeing him don our famous red jersey.
