Jose Mourinho has always been known as a manager that won’t take any prisoners, and if a player isn’t performing for the self-proclaimed Special One, he isn’t afraid to wield the axe. That may be the case for a particular duo who have drastically underperformed.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who say that both Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin have been told they are free to leave the Theatre of Dreams if they choose to.
The pair haven’t mustered up a single Premier League start between them, which is crazy considering they cost somewhere in the region of £50million between them.
The Mail report say that Everton boss Ronald Koeman is keen on bringing both his compatriot Depay to Goodison, as well as Morgan Schneiderlin who he has worked with previously at Southampton Football Club.
At the end of the day, I personally expected pretty huge things from them both, and that really hasn’t happened. They’ve both been here for over twelve months now, and they clearly aren’t doing enough in training to warrant a start in the Premier League.
It makes sense to ship them both off and allow Jose to invest that money in other areas of the team, because the longer they stick around on the bench, the more I believe they’ll decrease in value.
