Manchester United have ended their interest in both Willian and Gareth Bale, as they put all their efforts into pursuing a deal for Ivan Perisic.
That’s according to the Daily Mirror, per the Daily Express, although at this point in time, Inter Milan remain confident of keeping the 29-year-old in the Serie A.
The Red Devils did chase Perisic’s signature pretty strongly last summer, but in the end, Mila managed to fight off Jose Mourinho. After the Croatia winger had an excellent World Cup, it seems as though that interest has been re-ignited.
I wanted Perisic to come last term, that view hasn’t changed. He’s world-class, experienced and an excellent player off either foot. His versatility could come in extremely handy as he can play all across the front line if required.
Perhaps his opening could come on the right-hand side. That’s where United seem to be weakest at the moment.
Now the ball is in Edward Woodward’s court. Pushing this deal over the line before the transfer window slams shut isn’t going to be easy. Time is running out, the United Vice-Chairman is going to have to act extremely quickly.
