Manchester United could well have a new manager come the summer, with plenty of reports suggesting a deal to bring in Jose Mourinho is growing ever closer. Alongside that they’ll be plenty of new signings, too, and the Manchester Evening News say that a move for Aymeric Laporte is close.
The Frenchman is one of the best young centre-backs at the moment, and is putting in some superb performances for the Basque side Athletic Club Bilbao in Spain.
Plenty of the so called bigger clubs have been sniffing around to sign the 21-year old, but as they did when United signed Ander Herrera, Bilbao will be trying to stand firm for as long as possible.
There is no doubting the talents of Laporte, and he already has plenty of playing experience despite being so young. Once again though, you’re investing in talent rather than proven quality, which can always be a risk.
