Manchester United eye Schweinsteiger move

Manchester United are lining up a summer move for Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to the Daily Star. This news comes after Thomas Muller rejected a move to Old Trafford, and penned a new deal at Bayern Munich that’ll keep him in Bavaria for the foreseeable future.

Louis van Gaal is winning to pay up to £23million for Schweinsteiger’s signature, and hopes that he’ll be the focal point of United’s revamped starting line-up come the start of the season.

Alongside Schweinsteiger, Kevin Strootman is being targeted by Louis van Gaal. That would be a January move though, as the 24-year old Dutchman is currently out injured after suffering ligament damage.

Reports in Germany suggest that contact between the two clubs over Schweinsteiger has already been made, and a move is looking like happening shortly after the World Cup.

Would Schweinsteiger be a good addition? Or is he too old? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
