Manchester United seemingly have to turn their attentions away from Antoine Griezmann, as the search for an out and out striker continues. Now, it looks as though Jose Mourinho has his sights set firmly on one man in particular; Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon.
That’s according to the Daily Mirror, who say that the Red Devils are ready to make a £50million move to land the prolific French forward. In his last four years, Lacazette has found the back of the net at least twenty times, with his best campaign coming in 2016/17, where he scored a huge 37 goals across all competitions.
Now 26, I would say he is the perfect age player for us. We need someone younger than Zlatan Ibrahimovic, yet with more experience than Marcus Rashford. The Lyon man would be a world-class signing who knows exactly where the back of the net is.
Lacazette would bring a different dimension to our club. In terms of being a deadly finisher, we have nobody who comes close to him when given an opportunity inside of the box. He also has bags of pace, yet is strong and physical too.
As for the £50million transfer fee, I’d actually consider that to be quite cheap in the current market. I’d be thrilled if we managed to land Lyon’s main man over the summer, as Ibrahimovic would finally have someone to help him when it comes to putting the ball into the back of the net on a regular basis.
