Manchester United eyeing move to recruit world class talent spotter

Manchester United Football Club have made a whole host of world class signings for the first-team this summer, with Jose Mourinho managing to lure in the likes of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic without Champions League football on the table.

Now attentions have turned to overhauling a youth system that has struggled in recent years, and that begins with a move to bring in a new recruitment coach – who has great pedigree in the past.

The man in question is Steve Hopcroft, who currently works as a recruitment coach for West Brom. The Daily Telegraph say that Manchester United want to bring him in to help out Nicky Butt and the rest of the academy – as he has an eye to see top potential in young players.

Hopcroft is the man behind scouting Saido Berahino and Jerome Sinclair – two players who have made huge in-roads to becoming top footballers over the last few years.

You’d imagine that if Manchester United made a concrete offer for Hopcroft’s services, then the Englishman would bite your hand off at the opportunity to work at the AON Training Complex on a permanent basis.
