Manchester United Football Club’s form has been brilliant recently, with Jose Mourinho’s men on an excellent unbeaten run in the Premier League. An ever present throughout that period has been Ander Herrera, with the fan favourite putting in some really energetic performances in the middle of the park.
The 27-year-old has been preparing for the game against Watford, and whilst speaking to reporters, he revealed that talks about extending his stay at Old Trafford are yet to get underway.
“I have nothing to talk about. Of course, if they want to talk with me, I will be very happy to do that. But so far, nothing.” The Manchester Evening News quote Ander Herrera as saying.
The Spaniard’s contract doesn’t run out until June 2018, which is close to eighteen months away. However, theoretically, he is free to open talks with other clubs from January 2018 onwards – which isn’t that far away.
That said, I highly doubt that Manchester United will let him leave, especially given his form recently. He has been at the heart of everything good about our midfield play this campaign, and seems to be forming a nice partnership alongside Paul Pogba.
At this point in time, there is absolutely no need to worry. I’d guess at talks beginning towards the end of the season, with a new agreement in place some time over the summer; don’t quote me on that, though.
