Manchester United’s pre-season tour continued with a game against the European champions, Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho would have been hoping for a step up in performance levels yet again, despite the fact we seen a much-changed team.
One of the starters was Andreas Pereira, and it was excellent to see the clever little Brazilian getting some minutes in a more advanced role; as opposed to the holding-midfielder position that he had been playing in recently.
From minute one, the 21-year-old did not look out of place and you can tell that last season’s loan move done him the world of good. He was finding little pockets of space, picking the right pass and his movement was intelligent.
For one so young, he was a joy to watch. Confidence was brimming and he was willing to try the difficult pass to create an opening rather than going for the easy ball.
He lost it a few times but that didn’t affect his mindset and he just kept pushing forward to try and create chances for his teammates. I, like many others, can see him making a real impact for the Red Devils next season. Check out some of Twitter’s best reactions here.
Have a look at the tweets aimed at Andreas Pereira below:
I was never a big Pereira fan…but his time away seems to have helped…more physical, more disciplined, more motivated…looks good!

Pereira looks ready to be a United first team player (no doubt if he's not someone will dig this tweet up years from now)

Pereira looks very confident and comfortable. Lost the ball a couple of times but he's not looked out of place. Very positive in his play.
