Is there even a debate anymore? David de Gea is by far and away the best goalkeeper in the world, and once again he proved it this evening.
The Spaniard returned back to his homeland to take on Sevilla in a game that was always going to be a closely fought encounter, and as the first-half was drawing to a close, he produced an absolutely wonderful save to keep Luis Muriel at bay.
It looked for all the world that the net was about to bulge when the Colombian headed for goal from just a few yards out, but De Gea’s fantastic reflexes kept the Sevilla forward at bay.
Honestly, it’s just not that surprising these days. We’ve seen this man make save-after-save like this, time-and-time again. He bails us out on so many occasions when it looks like the opponent is going to score, and you simply cannot put a price on that.
As you’d imagine, Red Devils fans all over social media were absolutely buzzing with the United #1 and rightly so. We’ve compiled some of the best tweets below.

De Gea is basically a mosquito net in human form.

We've been through this in Europe with Mourinho before. Now we go into the second leg at home, where we score first, try to hold onto the lead, give away a clear chance late on where De Gea saves us and we go through, just about.
