Anthony Martial’s absolutely exquisite start to the season continued at home to Burton Albion on Wednesday night. The young man is a frighteningly gifted footballer, and once again, he was a joy to watch as he tore the Championship side apart almost single-handedly.
Manchester United have always had this knack when it comes to nurturing young talents – and I’ve certainly not seen many more talented than Martial.
From first minute right until last, the 21-year-old Frenchman had the Albion defenders in knots. His speed is scary, as is his ability with the ball at his feet. Some of the close control bits of play he treated us all too were unbelievable at times, and the Burton players just couldn’t keep up with him.
He finally got his goal in the second half when the game was winding down, but on another day Martial could have easily had a hat-trick.
Towards the end of the match, I think the opposing defenders just gave up trying to stop him. Instead, they just hacked him down because that was the only way they could beat our star man.
Following the game, Twitter was in awe of Martial’s performance and rightly so. Check out some of the best tweets below.

Yes, Martial is well aware that these players have families, you think he cares? He walked away from his own, a year ago. Savage mentality.
