I think it’s fair to say Alexis Sanchez has been hit and miss since he came to Manchester United.
However, the Chile international was absolutely outstanding at Wembley Stadium this afternoon. He put in an immense performance, from first minute right until the last, when the pressure was on.
I want to start with his brilliant headed goal to draw United level. Having such control over the ball when falling backwards is sublime, in an FA Cup semi-final no less.
Then you have to look at the work rate and effort he puts into each and every single fixture. Sanchez ran himself into the ground for the good of the cause, despite being constantly kicked by Tottenham Hotspur players.
It was the sort of performance that Sanchez had been putting in at Arsenal on a regular basis, and we’re now beginning to see it happen more frequently in Red Devils colours. Next season, I feel he’ll have a big say in the Premier League title race.
As you’d imagine, United fans were absolutely buzzing on social media after an insanely good performance from their star man. We’ve compiled our favourite tweets below.
Alexis Sanchez has been absolutely outstanding for #mufc v #thfc, ran himself into the ground, attacking and tracking back. Scored the equaliser with a difficult header, helped make the winner, totally vindicating Mourinho’s backing. Sanchez loves Wembley for clubs and country.

Alexis Sanchez won my heart today. The work rate was absolutely phenomenal. The same goes for Lukaku. Superb.

I don’t know how anyone of our fanbase cannot like Alexis Sánchez. Give him a full preseason and he‘ll hit the ground running. Had some „off“ games but even then he worked his socks off + you can’t deny the influence he’s had in all our big game wins after his arrival!

You simply can’t ignore Alexis Sanchez’ work rate for us today. Sprinted back into midfield and won the ball back countless times this afternoon which was key in getting the result. Also took his goal very well. Next season I think we’re in for a treat after he gets a pre season.
