Manchester United certainly took a commanding lead in their Europa League two-legged tie against Saint-Etienne, as Jose Mourinho’s side won 3-0. The scoreline certainly flattered the Red Devils, with one man, in particular. stealing the limelight after scoring a hat-trick.
That is, of course, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with the influential Swede scoring all three goals on the night – and it’s fair to say this is probably one of the scruffiest of hat-tricks we’ll see. However, they all count at the end of the day…
His first was a deflected free-kick, the second a tap-in and the final one a penalty – which he dispatched nicely.
The 35-year-old now has a huge 23 goals across all competitions, which is phenomenal considering we’re only in February. His reliability has been a real asset to the manager because Zlatan is always available for selection – an underrated selling point.
As you’d imagine, the Manchester United fans were buzzing about their star striker all over Twitter, so we’ve compiled some of the best tweets aimed at Zlatan below (including one of our own!).

22 goals & 6 assists for Ibra in February. Not bad for a 35 year old on a free transfer.

I never thought I'd see a worse hat-trick than CR7 in the Madrid derby but Zlatan took that crown last night

Let Zlatan's hat-trick not distract you from the fact that Liverpool signed Rickie Lambert as their replacement for Luis Suarez.

If there was one player who was going to get a hat-trick after Van Persie left, it was always going to be Zlatan.
