Manchester United Football Club took on Northampton Town last night, in a game that Mourinho’s men simply had to win, especially given the fact that they’d lost their last three. Another game against City awaits in the next round, and that isn’t going to be easy…
The newly-renamed English Football League Cup is a great opportunity for Jose Mourinho to give his fringe players a run out, and one man who got another chance to impress was Marcos Rojo.
Sadly, the Argentina international just didn’t do anything of note, and this is becoming a real issue for the reds fans, because his performances seem to be getting worse, and not better.
His confidence just looks shot, and his overall game just looks like an accident waiting to happen. I just don’t see where he fits into this side in the long term which is a shame.
As you’d expect, the United fans absolutely tore into the 26-year-old on social media after the match, and you can hardly blame them.
Check out some of the fans’ tweets aimed at Rojo here:
It comes as no surprise to see Argentina win absolutely nothing when both Romero and Rojo are regulars for them. No wonder Messi retired.

Rojo must be greatful for Rooney. Only time he's not the worst player on the pitch.

Just realised that Rojo is going to be tasked with neutralising Riyad Mahrez this weekend. 😂

Rojo, Darmian & Depay are surely out the door in January. Finished.

Mourinho may end up playing Schweinsteiger at left-back soon if Rojo continues his defensive master-class…

I'm a tad overweight, regular beer drinker, fast food eater, occasional smoker & have knackered knees but i think I could do better than Rojo

How is Marcos Rojo a footballer???

Blind gave away the penalty but not helped by the full-backs. Rojo's header was rubbish and Fosu-Mensah was ball-watching.
