Well, Manchester United’s hopes of securing Champions League football via league position are all-but over. Jose Mourinho’s men lost 2-0 at The Emirates, in a closely-fought game until the first goal was scored.
Not much can be taken away from North London today, except for one glimmer of hope; Axel Tuanzebe. The 19-year-old didn’t put a foot wrong throughout, and he absolutely kept Alexis Sanchez in his pocket for the duration of the game – which takes some doing.
Tuanzebe, born in the Democratic Republic of Congo is predominantly a centre-back, but today he started as the right-back and he was brilliant. His pace was lightning, positionally, he was supremely good and more often than not he won his individual battles.
Seriously, he deserves huge credit for what he did this afternoon. The best part about it all was that he didn’t look phased by the occasion and instead, took it all in his stride.
Obviously, he has an awful lot of developing and growing to do but with time, that will come.
The Manchester United fans up and down the country were buzzing about the latest academy graduate to get his chance on the stage, and rightly so. Check out some of the best tweets about Tuanzebe here:
Massive credit to Tuanzebe. Has had Sanchez in his pocket.

Tuanzebe a shining light. Can walk off the pitch with his head held high. Better than every one of those senior players.

Well done to Axel Tuanzebe. Very mature performance. Our best player today

If there is any positive to take from this it's Tuanzebe… looked confident, held his own… brilliant ?? #MUFC

Tuanzebe looked like the senior player in our defence. Can't wait for Jones and Smalling to leave (waiting for "Jones is decent" replies)

Tuanzebe was immense today. Natural and unfazed. The only positive to come out of the game for us

A Bailly-Tuanzebe partnership could bring back the days of Rio-Vidic pic.twitter.com/eEcYof1PIR
