Manchester United succumbed to the pressure and got hammered by Liverpool at Anfield last night, and in many respects were lucky to make it out with a 2-0 loss. The second goal came out of nowhere, as Michael Carrick made a horrendous clearance that went wrong, that led to Firmino’s smart finish.
Michael Carrick started the game from on the bench, but was called upon at the start of the second half due to a change in tactics, but bizarrely came on as a central defender.
The game was sealed midway through the second period as the Englishman tried to clear the ball, but completely miscued it and sliced it towards Adam Lallana, who played in Roberto Firmino to seal the win.
Manchester United fans were full of criticism towards the experienced central midfielder who is out of contract in the summer.

Carrick. Jesus. He’s not a defender.

Cheers LVG for pointlessly playing him at centre back.
Cheers linesman for wrongly calling it onside.

Has Carrick spoken to the media saying how "it's not good enough and we know that we have to improve" yet? Can read the clown like a book
