Manchester United put in probably their poorest performance in about three months yesterday, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time; Liverpool at home in the Premier League. Jose Mourinho’s men found themselves 1-0 down before the break, but somehow managed to level it up and escape with a point.
Sadly, there was one player on the pitch who just was not good enough from the get-go, and that was Paul Pogba. The Frenchman had an absolute shocker. He was lackadaisical in possession and got caught so many times. His passing was wayward for the most part, and honestly, it just looked like he was trying far too hard to get one over on the old enemy.
The 23-year-old gave away the all-important penalty that gifted Liverpool the lead after he handled in the area, and I’ve no idea why he had his arms aloft at that point. On top of that, you could argue that he should’ve been sent off after getting Jordan Henderson in a headlock. It was just one of those games for the most expensive man in world football.
We all know that he has been nothing short of outstanding for the last few months, though, and one bad game doesn’t change the fact that he is still the best midfielder in the country.
That didn’t stop United fans venting their frustrations over social media, which they have every right to do. There was plenty of backing for the young man too, though, which is nice to see.

I love Paul Pogba more than just about anyone but the occasion got the better of him today, he was horrendous. He'll bounce back better.

£90mil or not, Paul Pogba is still human, having one bad game every 3 months is expected, he's still very young and will make mistakes..

Pogba was awful yesterday. People are right when they say it's only one game, but it doesn't help when he's pushing his own brand so hard.

Chin up @paulpogba. Could be worse, you could get sent off within 38 seconds of coming on at home

So so fucked off with Pogba. I understand how you can have an off day, but the whole hype and brand promotion around him just makes it worse
