Manchester United first-team goalkeeper ‘significantly injured’ so club recall backup

Manchester United Football Club have recalled Dean Henderson from his loan spell at Grimsby Town, the Football League side have confirmed. However, that’s not what is interesting here – it’s more the reason why, and this could be a huge concern for Jose Mourinho.

In the article where they say Henderson has been brought back to Old Trafford, they add it is due to the fact that a first-team Manchester United goalie has been ‘significantly injured’, although they don’t name who.

What an absolute disaster it would be if it’s David de Gea. The Spaniard has been outstanding over the last few years and has saved us countless points on occasion. He’s now, without doubt, one of the best goalkeepers on the planet – and to be without him for a long period of time would really hurt our top four and trophy chances.

The other possibilities are Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira. If it was either one of these, then I wouldn’t be too concerned – but it would be a bit of an issue, because it leaves Manchester United short in a key area of the field.

Whoever it is, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough, as Jose Mourinho will meet the media at 14:00 BST to discuss all things about the upcoming Leicester match.
