Manchester United fringe players turns down move away from Old Trafford

Manchester United made somewhat of an odd move by bringing in Sergio Romero over the summer, with the Argentinian coming in on a free transfer merely as backup. At the time it felt like an odd decision, considering Victor Valdes and Sam Johnstone are both more than capable.

However, since joining he has rarely featured – mostly in cup competitions and he only played at the start of the season due to the uncertainty over David de Gea.

Reports coming out of his homeland in Argentina are now saying that the experienced shot-stopper has turned down a potential move to River Plate, Nexogol say.

It seems a bit silly for him to turn it down as he isn’t really going to get any offers from any superior clubs, heck, it seems like nobody is interested in him at all – we even picked him up on a free transfer from his previous club Sampdoria.
