Despite the manager declaring Alexis Sanchez ‘not available’ for the encounter at the Theatre of Dreams, the 30-year-old Chilean has returned to training, furthermore, Goal report that he is now in contention to play in the game against the Toffees.

Sanchez’s return to fitness is hugely important. United have been struggling for goals recently, with Romelu Lukaku’s place in the team certainly in doubt following some below-par performances.

When you factor in that the ex-Arsenal man has played his best football through the middle, to me, it feels like a no-brainer. Even if he isn’t 100% fit, you know you’re going to get hard work from Sanchez from the first minute till last, and if he does get the opportunity on goal, you’d feel far more confident in him taking it.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that Lukaku needs to sit out a game or two. Even if it’s Marcus Rashford getting his chance through the middle with Sanchez on the bench, anything has to be better than the output we’re getting right now.
