Manchester United play better last time out against Arsenal, but the performance level still has some way to go before we’re competing with the best-of-the-best again.
One man who shone against The Gunners was Anthony Martial. Again, the Frenchman found the score-sheet as he capitalised on some calamitous defending to tuck home, but in the second half, the fans were left sweating as the 23-year-old limped off the field with injury.
However, the Red Devils have been handed a big boost, with the Manchester Evening News making a bold claim, stating that Martial should be fit to take on Fulham FC this coming Saturday.
It seemed to be a recurrence of a groin injury that he has struggled with in the past, but it’s great news to learn that he’ll be good to go against Claudio Ranieri’s side.
We’ve been struggling for goals this season, and Martial aside, we haven’t hit the back of the net with any regularity. We need him fighting fit during this hectic winter schedule, as this is the point in the season where it’s make or break. Last Christmas, we fell off the pace in the title race, but this year, we have to find form and drag ourselves back into the thick of it, and Martial is key to our hopes and aspirations.
