Manchester United have started their league campaign in fine style. Mourinho’s men have claimed two wins out of two, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic making a quick adjustment to life at his new club. Now, United enter the newly-named EFL Cup at the third round.
The draw was made late last night after the second round matches were all completed, and Manchester United have been handed a favourable tie; an away trip to Northampton Town.
Northampton are currently a League One side who are sitting mid-table after their first few rounds of fixtures, but clearly have a talented bunch as they did enough to knock out Premier League team West Brom in the last round.
It will be a chance for Jose Mourinho to utilise the full talents of his squad, with players like Marcus Rashford, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Memphis Depay all expecting playing time in this tournament.
The game will be played at Sixfields Stadium, on either the 20th or 21st of September.
