Manchester united handed positive injury update, superstar set to return following international break: report

Manchester United were dealt a huge blow when Paul Pogba was ruled out of the Manchester derby with an injury.

The 25-year-old Frenchman was the key figure in the Red Devils’ come-from-behind victory away at The Etihad last season, and we certainly struggled without him.

Following that game, news broke that Pogba would miss the international break with the issue, which left us wondering just how serious the problem is…

Thankfully, though, we’ve been given some good news. According to the Daily Mirror, Pogba is responding well to treatment and he’s expected to return immediately after the international break, when United take on Crystal Palace.

I think the fact that Pogba picked up the injury against Juventus, but played on despite being in pain, tells you everything you need to know about his character. Unfortunately, that’d come back to haunt us against City, but that’s life sometimes…

It may ‘only’ be Palace next time out, but without Pogba, United lack creativity in the midfield. If he were missing for any game at the moment, I’d feel far less confident in the Red Devils’ ability to win. We’re so over-reliant on him it’s ridiculous, particularly when you consider how much money the club have spent since Jose Mourinho was appointed manager…
