Manchester United have agreed a £44million deal to sign Radamel Falcao in the summer, according to Goal.com. Goal go on to say that Falcao will pen a deal worth over £240,000-a-week, and the deal is already in place despite there being seven months of the Premier League season left.
Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes has a good relationship with United executives, and both parties are keen to get a deal sealed as soon as possible.
I’d fully imagine that although a deal is in place, Manchester United can opt out of the move at any time. A lot can happen before the end of the season, and if Radamel Falcao picked up another major injury I doubt that United would be stupid enough to be tied into a long-term contract with the Columbian.
There is no doubt that Falcao is one of the best strikers in world football, but he needs to prove his fitness before he even starts thinking about proving himself on the pitch.
