Manchester United are clearly trying their utmost to lure a world class player into Old Trafford at some point in the not too distant future, but so far their attempts have come up short. Their efforts have been noticed however, if the latest reports coming out of Spain are true.
Marca say that Manchester United have made approaches for Gareth Bale over the last two transfer windows, having offered €100million on both occasions. The publication from Madrid go on to say that Manchester United also offered the Welshman a significant wage increase, but Bale himself turned the offer down due to his happiness in Madrid.
At the end of the day, it feels like United have spent far too much time going after unrealistic targets since Edward Woodward has been in charge, and that has to stop, unless they know they have a real shot at signing one of the best in the world.
