Manchester United’s interest in Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic really did come out of nowhere. The 28-year-old winger was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford by Sky Sports News, and it is a deal that picked up pace rather quickly.
Now The Independent have offered another twist to the tale, they say that the Red Devils could have hit a roadblock in any potential move for the Croatian as a disagreement in price between the two clubs has come about.
There is apparently a £15million gap in their valuation of the player, with the Serie A side holding out for around the £50million mark for Perisic; which is quite a hefty sum for a player who hasn’t really ever played at one of Europe’s premier sides.
With that said, I’m sure that if Manchester United don’t think there is any value in meeting that aforementioned figure then they simply will not do it and find other options elsewhere. I have full faith in the list that Jose Mourinho has drawn up, as he got every single one of his summer signings spot on, and until that changes, we have to give him our full backing.
For what it’s worth, I’m of the opinion that bringing in Perisic would be an astute piece of business. We’ve not really had a left-sided player who has nailed down that wide position over the last twelve months and the former Wolfsburg winger would fit into Mourinho’s system seamlessly.
