Jose Mourinho wants to add Arturo Vidal to the Manchester United playing squad in the summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Apparently, the Red Devils are planning to address the situation at the end of the season, as Michael Carrick is set to call time on a glittering playing career at Old Trafford.
The Bayern Munich central midfielder Vidal would be a fantastic acquisition, and if he does arrive, we could well see a switch in formation to a 4-3-3 that has served Mourinho so well in the past.
Arguably the best thing about this deal would be the fact that Vidal and Paul Pogba have previously worked together at Juventus, and along with Andrea Pirlo, they formed a stunning midfield that was probably the best trio in football at that time.
Don’t forget that Marouane Fellaini is also yet to agree to a contract extension at United, so Mourinho could well be in the market for two midfield options in just a few months time.
It’s like buses, you wait for one and then two come along at once. United hadn’t had a Chilean represent the first-team until Alexis Sanchez arrived, now we’re chasing his compatriot, and I pray that we get him.
