With just one game left to play in our first season under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, the transfer rumours surrounding Manchester United will inevitably start to grow. Our manager has become renowned for getting his business done early, so hopefully, we’ll see the same happen this season.
Now, according to French Radio Station Canal+ (translated by The Sun) Manchester United are in advanced talks with AS Monaco as they look to secure their first major transfer of the summer. The man in question is attacking playmaker Bernardo Silva.
Now 22, Silva has become an integral part of AS Monaco’s title-winning side, as he has created chances galore with his silky quick feet and sublime passing ability. This is a man who has really emerged on the global stage over the last twelve months.
So where would he fit in at Manchester United? Well, as we all know as Red Devils fans, carving out openings has been our biggest issue for pretty much all season. The likes of Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan really haven’t done enough in that regard, and you can understand exactly why the manager is looking at other potential options.
Silva also has the ability to play out wide if the situation arises, and his versatility is another one of his major selling points. The newly-crowned Ligue 1 champions obviously wouldn’t be keen on the idea of letting one of their biggest assets go, and no doubt it’d take a colossal amount of money to prise him away. A move could be possible in our opinion though, and we’d love to see it happen.
