It’s not often that Manchester United will travel to The Emirates Stadium with other priorities, but that is exactly the case today. The Red Devils will be focusing on their Europa League semi-final second leg against Celta Vigo, but today, we take on Arsenal in the league.
Ahead of that match, The Sun have confirmed a whole host of youngsters have travelled down with the squad, including Matthew Olosunde, Demetri Mitchell, Scott McTominay and Matty Willock. You’d also imagine that Axel Tuanzebe could be involved, as he has been on the periphery of things for pretty much all season.
Obviously, this wouldn’t be the case if we didn’t have so many injuries decimating the squad on the whole, but it is always nice to see these youngsters in and around the team.
The next question is, will any of these guys play? Well, it depends on just how much Mourinho trusts some of these guys, coupled with the thought of simply throwing away three points in the league. It will hurt, but it certainly seems like the best strategy from here on out.
I would much prefer to see us rest those guys who have put in a lot of work recently; I’m looking at the likes of Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford. We need them fresh and ready for our Celta game.
