Manchester United have had a fairly quiet January in terms of transfers to this point, with Louis van Gaal clearly intent on waiting until the summer to make those huge transfer dealings. One man high on the priority list at the moment is SL Benfica’s Renato Sanches, who has burst onto the scene recently.
According to The Independent, Manchester United have increased their interest in the 18-year old attacking midfielder, and will wait until the summer before trying to negotiate the fee down from his current £58million release clause.
Sanches has all the talent in the world to be one of the best on the planet in his position, but as we all know, talent doesn’t always turn into proven quality, meaning this could be a huge gamble.
At this point in time I’d much prefer us targeting players who have been there and done it in England rather than young stars who will take years to nurture and develop, who may not eventually work out.
